Wednesday's Workout

We practiced front squats this morning, which gives me an opportunity to test my progress since late June, when we last focused on this move. I can already feel that my form is much improved -- I'm squatting deeper, and able to drive more forcefully from the "hole." The next step: Increasing the amount of weight I can squat.

Today's metcon: Double-Under Helen.

3 rounds for time:
  • 50 Double-Unders
  • 21 Kettlebell Swings
  • 12 Pull-Ups

It took me a whopping 16:18 to finish, mostly because I stumbled aplenty during the double-unders. Before today, I'd never been able to crank out more than a half-dozen of 'em, but I decided I wasn't going to scale the workout by substituting single-unders -- even if it took me an hour to finish all 150 double-unders. Thankfully, I got into a groove, and was able to string together several long, unbroken stretches of double-unders. But it was a shitload of work because for every double-under I did, I probably did another three or four single-unders just to get into the proper rhythm.

Still: It was fun.
