After a week of tossing and turning, I finally managed to get a decent night's sleep last night. I woke up at 4:20 a.m. feeling like I could tackle the world -- but it turned out I couldn't even manage to tackle heavy front squats.
Strength Skill:
Try as I might to hit or exceed my PR, I failed to front squat even 10 pounds below my previous best. This is another groove that needs grease. (But then again,
all my grooves could use some greasing.)
Metcon:
- 100 double-unders
- 1K row
- 800-meter run
I usually hate cardio-heavy metcons, but after Monday's grip-killer, I was relieved not to see any pull-ups or toes-to-bar on the menu. And to be honest, I'm starting to look forward to double-unders now that I can string 'em together with some consistency. This morning, I didn't get tripped up until after I'd cranked out over 40 double-unders, and the rest didn't take long to complete. Then, it was just a matter of doggedly slogging through the rowing and the running.
Result: 10:17 as RXed.
